skribbl.io is a free multiplayer drawing and guessing game. One player draws a word, everyone else types guesses, and the highest score wins.
Research notes
The official homepage and client were checked on 13 October 2026. They provide a nickname field, a word-language menu, Play, and Create Private Room. The host controls include players, draw time, rounds, word mode, and custom words. These notes describe the published controls; they are not a scored gameplay test.
What skribbl.io is
The official About text says a normal game is a few rounds. Each round, one player draws a chosen word and the others guess it to gain points. The person with the most points is crowned the winner.
CrazyGames, which has hosted the game since 2017, credits the developer as ticedev. A Wayback snapshot of skribbl.io exists from 16 February 2017. The same CrazyGames page also prints a March 2017 release line, so I keep both dates and do not collapse them.
How a round actually starts
You need at least two players. The client says “You need at least 2 players to start the game!” if you try earlier. The drawer picks one word from up to five choices. Everyone else sees underscores, or question marks in Hidden mode.
CrazyGames describes faster correct guesses as earning more points, with the drawer also scoring according to successful guesses. No exact server-side scoring formula is published in the sources reviewed here.
- Players: 2 to 20
- Draw time: 15 seconds up to 240 seconds
- Rounds: 2 to 10
- Languages in the menu: 28

Use Create Private Room, set the room to Private, and send the invite link. Steps and the error “You are already connected to this room!” are on the private-room pages.
