Is skribbl.io safe for kids?
You do not make an account or type a password. You do sit in a room where other people draw and type, and that content is not pre-approved.
Research notes
The official homepage disclaimer covers user-generated drawings, messages, and usernames. The 13 October 2026 browser evidence recorded Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and AdInPlay scripts on the game. The guide now uses external browser-play links and does not load the game or its advertising inside a page.
What the game gives a host
The host can kick and ban. Players can votekick, mute, and report. Report reasons in the client are inappropriate messages or drawings, spam, and botting or cheating. There is a setting labeled “Filter bad words in chat”.
None of that makes a public room a kids’ product. Custom words can be anything the host pastes. For a child, use a private room and a list you have read.
Ads and third parties
The official game terms discuss third-party advertising and opt-out resources. This guide has no enabled game or video embeds. Following an official game link opens another site, whose advertising and privacy choices are controlled by its operator.
Questions
Do I need a password?
No. Do not type a password into a drawing game, and do not type one into a site that only looks similar.
Is the chat filtered by default?
There is a filter setting. I am not claiming it catches every word in every language.
